Crystal Palace v Arsenal predictions for their English Premier League match at Selhurst Park (London) on Thursday night..

Our tipsters are not at all impressed by the Arsenal away from home performances this EPL season (2-3-4) and we cannot understand why the bookmakers have made Arsenal so clearly below evens favorites in this match.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal predictions for Monday’s English Premier League clash at Selhurst Park (London).

Arsenal will be disappointed to come into this match after coming from 2-0 down against Liverpool to lead 3-2 but end up throwing two points away (3-3). However, Arsenal scored their quickest 3-goal burst since a 4-4 draw against Newcastle Utd in Feb 2011 and Wenger said: “The spirit is fantastic. On that front, I am proud of the players. It shows a strong mentality. We have the capacity to respond.”

Crystal Palace’s 3-0 win over Arsenal back in April was arguably one of the great shock results of 2016/17, marking Crystal Palace’s first win over Arsenal since October 1994. Arsenal will be wary of slipping up once again, with C.Palace now a very motivated team that has more than a fighting chance of avoiding relegation after losing the first 7 EPL matches.

For both Crystal Palace and Arsenal, this match is the designated Boxing Day fixture of 2017. The last time the London rivals met on Boxing Day was back in 1980 when C.Palace and Arsenal fought out a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal boss has hinted that Arsenal will not be active in the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger said: "It’s a 90% chance that it’s the same team. If we can find some additions to strengthen our squad we will do it. But we have a big squad, I think we have players of quality."

Arsenal are one of 6 English Premier League ever-presents, and their overall Boxing Day record in the EPL era stands at W16, D6, L2. A 4-0 defeat to Southampton ended an unbeaten Boxing Day run for Arsenal that lasted between 2000 and 2014. Within that sequence was also a run of 7 straight Boxing Day wins (2000-2006).

Arsene Wenger’s opposite coach, Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, has recently been backed by Ian Wright, who was a striker for both clubs during his career, to keep Palace up. As reported in the Daily Star, pundit Wright said on 20 December: “No wins in 7, no goals, Wilf (Zaha) out. It was just an unbelievable turnaround. Even now they’re in and around the bottom three but they won’t feel like they are because they’ve gathered momentum and they’re looking like a team now.”

Roy Hodgson’s vs Arsene Wenger stands at W2, D3, L7.
